But this is where it all began …

We are Adam & Debbie and we started working in digital marketing back in 2007, when Adam and I started a website selling motorcycle parts online and literally had no idea what we were doing! We did everything wrong and taking on the challenge of selling from an online catalogue was pretty much the stupidest thing we could have done. By the time we had added most of the products, they were out of date and so we ended up running in circles editing the lot. Not to mention, we had no clue on SEO, which meant our beautiful website was useless and we spent more time worrying about the website than actually making money!

We had a gorgeous online shop … but no customers! So we took to spending the next few years studying and learning everything about SEO and online marketing. Turned out I was a complete Geek at heart and Adam was pretty good at Google Ads … We loved it!!

We then decided to start specialising in certain products, so we built websites and started marketing to sell them. We became the number one online retailer for quite a few brands, mainly because of our SEO knowledge, but also because we combined it with effective PPC advertising. We were continuously number one on all search engines, which was down to our website’s organic SEO, which means FREE MARKETING! We were so good, we were even higher than the actual manufacturers and we had a great customer service to offer our customers, so repeat custom came easy.

For a few years, we made a lot of money, but then ebay sellers who were happy to earn just a fiver became an unbeatable competition and for us, that meant that that particular business came to an end.

Our Why …

When the business ceased trading, Adam went off to start a new career, but after realising how much I loved doing the geeky Google stuff, I wanted to start using my skills to help other people. I have a real passion for people succeeding in life and I love business, so I wanted to find other people that had beautiful websites but couldn’t reach their target audience.

This led me to starting a couple of directory websites, where I worked on the SEO, and helped local businesses get found online for a low monthly cost. I supplied links to their own website and social media, which in turn helped their own website SEO massively. From there I was commissioned to work on various business websites, either by improving their website’s SEO for search engine rankings or in a consultancy manner, guiding business owners on what changes they needed to make themselves in order to climb the ever-changing Google ladder.

Adam’s new work involved being a Business Development Manager and was also involved in the Marketing of the business, but he kept his hand in running some of our client’s Google Advertising and after the pandemic hit us in 2020, he decided to re-join me again, to kick-start our own business venture again, which is when Site and Search was founded.

I also drew from my PPC knowledge and along with Adam, we continue to work with some online retail and many service-based businesses to tailor successful Pay per click campaigns, through Google Marketing and Social Media Ad’s and of course our effective SEO strategies.

So this is our story on how Site and Search came about. Back in 2007, wasting a few years, not knowing what we were doing, has led us to investing in ourselves, learning everything we needed to, so we can do it all effectively, affordably and quickly for other business owners.

It is always a good idea to know a lot of how your business works, but as far as online marketing goes, it took us years to learn and it changes all the time.

We understand that business owners do not have the time to learn it all and why should they? I don’t know how fit a sink and I wouldn’t learn how to, I would just get a Plumber in to do the job!
